Mariia Gorkun

Mariia Gorkun

Born in Kiev, Ukraine in 1982, Mariia Gorkun enjoys a reputation for both traditional and non-traditional repertoire. She studied at the Tchaikovsky Music Academy with Yaroslava Rivnyak, where she graduated with excellence and finished the postgraduate course of chamber music. She is also a student of Mark Lakirovich at the Longy School of Music in Boston, USA. Mariia's performance career has taken her to Europe, the Middle East, the USA and Australia, where she has performed chamber music, recitals and concerti. She has been a laureate of a number of competitions, including the M.P. Mazur Competition of Chamber Ensembles in St. Petersburg, Russia and the International Competition for Twenty First Century Art in Vorzel, Ukraine.
